The possibilities of CNC turning at Dumaco

The maximum turning diameter for fully automatic turning is 290 mm, and the minimum turning diameter is 10 mm. The largest diameter on a non-fully automated lathe is 900 mm.
Selected lathe machine: Okuma LT300M Twin Star
The Okuma LT300M Twin Star is a modern CNC lathe machine used by Dumaco. It is equipped with a robot for loading and unloading operations. The robot is capable of handling workpieces weighing up to 80 kg with a maximum diameter of 290 mm. This machine offers the possibility of fully unmanned production, meaning it can operate without human intervention. Additionally, the Okuma LT300M Twin Star utilizes an Esprit CAD-CAM system, enhancing its capabilities. It is particularly well-suited for large production series, such as quantities ranging from 500 to 1,000 pieces.
The Okuma LT300 has a chuck on the left and right side where a product can be clamped for turning. This allows for the processing of two products simultaneously. Another option is to clamp one product on the left chuck and the second product on the right chuck. The right chuck then moves all the way to the left and takes over the turning operation from the left chuck. Meanwhile, the robot inserts a new blank into the left chuck. Simultaneously, the first operation is performed on the left side, and the second side of the product is machined on the right side. In the latter option, the product is completely finished.

The Hedelius Acura 65 is a state-of-the-art 5-axis milling machine. It is controlled by an Esprit CAD-CAM package. Dumaco has connected this high-precision machine with an Indumatik 120 pallet changing system. This enables the machine to operate fully automated. The production capacity of this machine can thus be greatly expanded!
