What does water jet cutting involve?
Water cutting (also called water jet cutting) is a process that is used to cut shapes in metal. This is done using a precise, high-pressure jet stream of water. It’s an ‘old technology’ in comparison with laser cutting, for example. However, it still has a surprise number of advantages. The high water pressure combined with the addition of an abrasive sand make it possible to cut thicker materials. Water cutting can be used to process a number of types of material besides metal too. For example, plastic, glass and rubber.

The advantages of Resato ACM:
- Able to cut two identical products synchronously: this reduces production time and costs
- The cutting head can be tilted up to an angle of 55° (the practical limit when cutting a 45° bevel angle at a 90° contour angle)
- Able to cut virtually any type of material (of any thickness)
- It’s possible to create holes in existing products in most cases
