Dumaco Kampen breidt uit!
Dumaco continues to grow, and so does our Kampen location. We have expanded in terms of capacity, workforce, and facility size. Recently, we even opened a new production area. The entire production of a key customer, including the welding department, has been relocated there. Fortunately, it was just a short move as the welders simply transitioned to the production space across the street. This new facility provides ample room for the welding robot, other welding equipment, and sufficient workspace for the welders to create high-quality products. There is an increasing demand from the market.
The additional location has been a desire from Kampen for some time. The facility has significantly expanded its welding capacity and expects this growth to be a lasting trend. The plan is to even double the welding capacity due to the growing demand from the market. The energy transition, for example, is generating additional work; Kampen now produces a lot of charging stations for electric cars, which are largely made using welding robots. This requires more space.
Jeroen Nijsse, Operations Director, says, “With our new welding department, we have more space and overview, creating a smooth workflow. This allows us to free up more space at the main location. Previously, assembly activities were scattered across different areas, but now we can consolidate them in one new department. We are pleased with this development as the demand is also increasing.” More space also means the need for additional skilled professionals. The number of employees at Dumaco Kampen has grown from 65 to 85 as a result.
Specialist in Copper Processing
In addition to welding, Dumaco Kampen offers many other machining services. Copper processing, in particular, is a unique selling proposition of the facility. As one of the few companies, it can process copper strip materials with lengths of up to 4 meters and thicknesses ranging from 3 to 20 mm. The strips are cut and provided with holes (by tapping, drilling, or milling), and then bent. For this purpose, a special department has been set up.
